Ingredients[]
- 2 cups Flour
- 1/2 cup shortening (crisco)
- 1 Egg
- 1 Egg white
- 1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup almonds, chopped

- Rub shortening into flour.
- Add 2 tablespoons sugar and the baking powder.
- Add one egg, and make into a stiff paste.
- Roll out and cut into fingers.
- Mix almonds with 1/2 cup sifted sugar and the egg white
- Spread on fingers and bake quickly until it has a light brown color.
