Deep-fried plantain

  1. Cut the bananas lengthwise, then into little pieces.
  2. Pour about 5 inches of oil into a saucepan and heat until boiling.
  3. Place half the sliced bananas in the oil.
  4. Fry until reddish-brown. Remove.
  5. Fry the other half. Remove.
  6. Serve immediately.
  7. Best with grilled fish.
