- 3/4 cup Flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon cornmeal or panko bread crumbs or both
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup milk
- 2 1/2 cups onions, chopped
- Mix together the ingredients and add the milk.
- Add onions and mix thoroughly.
- Drop the batter into hot deep fat.
- Turn them and flatten them into patties after 3 minutes.
- Fry about 3–4 minutes.
- Drain on paper towels.
