Ingredients[]
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1¼ cups boiling water
- ½ cup shortening
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1½ cups flour
- 1 tsp soda
- ½ tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- ½ tsp nutmeg
Topping[]
- 5 tbsp oleo
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ½ cup milk
Directions[]
- Mix oats and boiling water; let stand 20 minutes.
- Cream together shortening, sugar, eggs, vanilla and add cooled oats with dry ingredients.
- Pour into an 8" x 8" pan.
- Bake at 350 °F for 35 minutes.
