Apple Peel Wine

Purchased from the Rosenthal Estate in Montgomery, Alabama in 1989. Dated 1936. Very different, but very good.

Ingredients Edit

• 1 gallon water
• 3 yeast cakes
• 5 pounds sugar
• 1 quart orange juice
• juice of 3 medium lemons
• peeling from 12 tart apples

Directions Edit

heat the water to 110 degrees. Edit

1. Dissolve yeast cakes in the warm water
2. Stir in sugar, orange juice, lemon juice and apple peeling.
3. Remove from heat; pour into a large jug but do not fill completely to top.
4. Do not tighten lid on jug.
5. Let peeling and juices stand for 9 days.
6. Strain and sweeten to taste.
