  1. In a medium, nonmetallic bowl, whisk together 2 tablespoons lime juice and 2 teaspoons salt.
  2. Add tomatoes, avocados, scallions and garlic.
  3. Using a rubber spatula, gently fold to combine. Season to taste with pepper.
  4. In a large bowl, whisk together oil, cumin, the remaining tablespoon lime juice, and 2 teaspoons salt.
  5. Add lettuce and toss.
  6. Season to taste with pepper.
  7. Divide lettuce among any plates.
