  1. Place all ingredients in a large stockpot and bring to a boil.
  2. Reduce heat and simmer for 1½ to 2 hours.
  3. When sauce has reduced, strain through a sieve.
  4. Use immediately or store in an airtight container for up to 4 weeks.
