Description
Ingredients
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 2/3 cup water
- 2/3 cup hominy grits, quick-cooking
- 2 tbsp butter or margarine
- 6 oz American cheese, shredded
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1/8 tsp pepper
Directions
Preheat oven to 350°F (moderate) grease a 2-quart baking dish. Add salt to water. Bring to a full, rolling boil. Add grits; return to boiling point. Cook, stirring constantly, until very thick, about 6 minutes. Remove from heat. Add fat. Mix Cheese, eggs, and pepper. Stir into grits. Pour into baking dish. Bake 40 minutes or until lightly browned. Calories per 2/3 cup serving: about 230
