  1. Prepare grill.
  2. Snap off tough ends of asparagus.
  3. Combine asparagus, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, shallots, salt, and black pepper; marinate 30 minutes.
  4. Remove asparagus; discard marinade.
  5. Place asparagus on grill rack coated with cooking spray.
  6. Grill 5 minutes on each side or until done.

Yield: 4 servings
