- Soak beans in cold water over a night.
- Pour cold water over meat,boil and cook on low heat for 45 minutes.
- Add barley, beans, finely chopped onion and cook on very low heat for 1 hour.
- salt and pepper and cook for 10 minutes.
- Soup is good when beans and meat are soft and tender.
