  1. Separate onions into rings.
  2. Heat oil to 370°F.
  3. Combine flour and cornmeal, set aside.
  4. Stir together milk and beer.
  5. Dip onions into milk mixture.
  6. Dredge in flour mixture to coat evenly.
  7. Dip into milk mixture then flour mixture again.
  8. Place onto waxed paper.
  9. Chill for 15 minutes to set coating.
  10. Serve warm.
