  1. Heat the oil in a saucepan, slice the onions and cook over a low heat until softened, moistening with 1 cup water.
  2. After 10 minutes add the tomato puree, season with salt and pepper and continue to cook over a low heat for 10 minutes.
  3. Add the stewing steak cut into small pieces and continue to cook for 3 – 4 minutes then serve.
