This Burmese style beef satay is great as a starter or as the accompaniment to rice. With meaty aroma and tangy consistency, every skewer of beef is red-hot, smoky fun!

  1. Cut beef into thin strips. In a bowl, put all the other ingredients and mix well.
  2. Add to the beef strips and let stand for 30 minutes.
  3. Thread the strips onto the bamboo skewers. Grill for 8–10 minutes, turning and basting often.
  4. Arrange beef satay on a plate. Serve hot and plain with rice.
