Shearing Cake

  1. Sift the flour into a mixing bowl, and then rub in the butter.
  2. Add the other dry ingredients, and then stir in the milk and beaten eggs.
  3. Mix well.
  4. Pour batter into a greased cake tin or loaf pan, and bake at 325° for thirty minutes.
  5. Reduce the oven temperature to 300 °F, and bake for another two hours.
