The Austrian recipes are very diverse. This happens because of the countries that have affected the Austrian cuisine. The Austrian Empire had a vast territory and many cultures shared their concepts, during that period. Some of the recipes that resulted in that period enjoy now public recognition. Austrian food is served in restaurants all over the world, although it may not have the original Austrian name. Some of the dishes that made Austrian cuisine famous are: Viennese Schnitzel, Pretzel, Apple Strudel and the Goulash, which is inspired from a Hungarian dish.
