Although there are various Chinese and Malaysian recipes in Brunei Darussalam cuisine, traditional and national dishes are very popular.

  • Daging Masak Lada Hitam is made with beef, soy sauce, oil, mashed black chili, potatoes, carrots, onions, garlic, halia, fried and mashed jintan manis, jintan putih and ketumbar.
  • Serodeng Padang is made with Chicken, water, sliced halia, garlic, onions, coconut milk, kerisik, pandan leaves, salt and sugar.
  • Udang Sambal Serai Bersantan includes tiger prawn, red chili, dry chili, pieces of onion, assam jawa flavored water, small cuted Serai and coconut milk.
