The Bulgarian recipes are very diverse. People have developed the cooking styles and discovered new ingredients, in time. Also, the nations with which Bulgaria made contact influenced a lot the national cuisine. Many of the Greek and Turkish cooking concepts were implemented in the Bulgarian cuisine. Each of the cooking methods and recipes that were borrowed from foreign countries have been enhanced and adapted to the local conditions. By changing the ways the foods are prepared by the other nations and by adding local ingredients to the recipes, Bulgaria has managed to create a cuisine of its own. Nowadays there are many Bulgarian recipes for appetizers, meat dishes, soups, salads, snacks and deserts. The beverages are also typical to this country. The strong alcoholic drinks are made from local fruits and the beer is made from local ingredients.
