Macedonian Desserts

The Macedonians make use of the great variety of fruits that are cropped all over the country to prepare their traditional desserts. On the other hand, there are desserts that are produced in Macedonia but are typical to all the countries from the Balkans. Such a dessert is the baklava, which is believed to have Turkish origins. The Macedonian halva and the many types of fruit marmalades are other traditional desserts. The cakes and pies based on fruits should be mentioned.
