The Macedonians enjoy, too, to serve various snacks between the main meals of the day. An ingredient that seems to be omnipresent in the Macedonian snack recipes is the cheese. Some of the dishes that are based on this element are: Cheese Pastry Turnovers, Cottage Cheese with either spinach or leeks, and Burek with white cheese. The Macedonian breads are also consumed as snacks. However, the fast food industry is developed in this country, as well, and people may end up replacing their traditional snacks with chips, sandwiches and cookies.
