The Macedonian soups have a very important role, during the meals. As they are based on vegetables, they ease the transition from the appetizers to the more consistent foods which are the meat dishes. Among the most famous soups in Macedonia, there are the white bean soup and the bulgur soup. In the majority of the cases, most of the ingredients are vegetables, but meats are also used to prepare the Macedonian soups. Another soup that went over the boundaries of the country is the green cream. People also use noodles in many of their soups. Kokoshka Soupa is a soup based on chicken, noodles, salt and of course, water.
