Salads are not common dishes in Zambia. However, at special occasions, salads are served as desserts. The introduction of salads in the Zambian cuisine represents a direct influence of the European cuisine and has started only a few decades ago. Salads are mostly made from vegetable or fruits but there are some recipes that also include meat. Below you can see some of the Zambian recipes for salads.

Avocado, tomato and mushroom salad is an easy to make recipe, specific to the capital city of Zambia. The main ingredients of this salad are plum tomatoes, avocados, Shiitake mushroom caps, garlic, shallots, vinegar, salt and fresh ground pepper.

Black bean and corn salad takes a long time to cook, but the result is worth it. Aside from the black beans and the corn, this salad also contains freshly squeezed lime juice, garlic, sea salt, cayenne pepper, avocado, tomatoes, green onions and coarsely chopped cilantro.

Salade de coeurs dartichauts lorange is an exotic Zambian recipe that is made using artichokes, lemons, oranges, radishes, Kalamata olives and sweet paprika.
