- Preheat oven to 250 °F.
- Spread butter on bread & cut into small cubes.
- In casserole dish, alternate layers of bread cubes and cheese.
- In a bowl, beat together egg, milk and dry mustard; pour over bread; stir gently.
- Let stand at least 10 minutes.
- Bake 40–45 minutes or till set in center.
