Ingredients[]
- 3½ pounds broccoli
- 2 pounds cauliflower
Cheese sauce[]
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 3 tbsp flour
- 1¾ cups milk
- 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 4.25 oz can diced green chilies, drained
- ¼ tsp hot pepper sauce
- ⅛ tsp salt
Directions[]
- Cut broccoli and cauliflower into florets.
- In a pot, bring 8 cups of lightly salted water to a boil.
- Add cauliflower, cook 2 minutes.
- Add broccoli, cook an additional 6 minutes or until vegetables are tender, drain.
Cheese sauce[]
- In a saucepan, melt butter.
- Whisk in flour and cook 1 minutes.
- Whisk in milk, continue to whisk until smooth.
- Bring to a boil.
- Remove from heat and stir in cheese and next 4 ingredients.
- Stir until smooth.
- To serve, place vegetables in serving dish and pour cheese sauce over the top.
- Serve immediately.
