This is a Chinese new year rice cake.
Ingredient[]
- 4 cups (450 grams) sweet rice powder
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 2⅓ cups water
- 2 tablespoons oil
Method[]
- Add brown sugar in water and heat up till sugar is melted.
- Place aside until cool.
- In a large bowl, combine the rice powder, oil and the brown sugar-water mixture together.
- Mix well.
- Place in a pie square baking dish or in a right size container then put in the rice cooker.
- Make sure that the container is not to be filled to fullest because the content will expand while being steamed.
- Steam for 2 hours.
