Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

Description

This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Leake Estate in Arlington, Texas in 1982.

Ingredients

• 3 mashed overripe bananas
• 1⅛ cup sugar
• ½ cup fresh orange juice
• 2 eggs
• ¼ cup softened unsalted butter
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 2 cups flour
• 2 teaspoons baking powder
• ½ teaspoon baking soda
• ⅛ teaspoon salt
• 1 cup small chocolate chips
• 1 cup chopped walnuts

Directions

1. Beat bananas, sugar, orange juice, eggs, butter and vanilla well.
2. Add dry ingredients one at a time mixing well.
3. Pour into 2 greased loaf pans and bake at 350°F for 50 minutes.
