  1. Heat oven to 320°F.
  2. Mix shortening, sugar, molasses and egg.
  3. Stir dry ingredients; blend into shortening mixture.
  4. Stir in fruit.
  5. Drop by teaspoonfuls about 1" apart on lightly greased baking sheet.
  6. Bake 12 – 15 minutes.
