Ingredients[]
- 1 cup grated carrot
- 1 cup grated potato
- 1¼ cups soft breadcrumbs
- 1 cup raisins
- 1 cup currants
- 1 cup brown sugar
- ½ cup margarine
- 2 tbsp sour milk
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ½ cup flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- ⅛ tsp nutmeg
- ½ tsp allspice
For serving[]
- ½ cup rum or bourbon heated slightly before serving
- 2 cup zabaione sauce
- holly sprigs to garnish (optional)
Directions[]
- Mix in order given.
- Turn into well greased heat proof bowl; cover and steam about 3 hours.
- Takes a medium sized bowl.
- Serve with brown sugar sauce, or custard, or whatever you like.
