About Coley Edit

Coley is a sea fish and is a member of the cod family. Its flesh it coarser and has no great flavour, being usually sold as steaks or fillets. As far as cooking is concerned, it can be fried, grilled, baked or boiled. Coley, as well as cod, is a species of oceanic deep water finfish and contain oils only in their liver, having dry and white flesh. White fish are generally divided into two categories; the first one includes round fish like cod and coley that live near the seabed, while in the second category flatfish can be found. Coley can be eaten straight, but most of the times it is used for fishsticks, lutefisk, gefilte fish, and surimi that means imitation crab.
