  1. Combine flour, cornmeal, sugar and baking powder in medium bowl.
  2. Combine milk and egg in small bowl.
  3. Add to flour mixture; mix just until blended (batter will be thick).
  4. Spread batter into shallow plate or dish.
  5. Insert skewers into hot dogs.
  6. Add oil to 2-inch depth in electric skillet or large skillet; heat to 350°F.
  7. Dip hot dogs into batter, coating all sides.
  8. Add 3 to 4 hot dogs to hot oil, turning after 5 to 10 seconds to set batter.
  9. Fry, turning occasionally, until golden brown; drain.
  10. Repeat with remaining hot dogs.
  11. Serve with mustard and ketchup.
