Ingredients[]
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 3 cups milk
- 3 cups hot chicken stock or 1 can consommé and 1¼ cans water
- 2 cups ground peanuts
- 2 tablespoons grated onion
- 2 teaspoons salt
- ⅛ teaspoon cayenne pepper
Directions[]
- Place the cornstarch in a deep saucepan.
- Slowly add the milk, stirring until smooth.
- Add the stock, peanuts, onion, salt, and cayenne pepper, stirring constantly.
- Bring to a boil and cook over medium heat for 5 minutes.
- Beat with a rotary beater for 1 minute.
- Strain.
- Serve hot.
