From England to Wonderland, it is widely accepted that no party is complete without a proper spot of tea. Sweet, familiar, and thoroughly chilled, this iced variety can be served at any celebration. After all, it is generally known that the best way to offer one’s congratulations is with another cup of tea!
Ingredients[]
- 1 cup canned lychee in syrup
- 8 cups water
- 6 Jasmine green tea bags
- Zest of 1 lemon
- Juice of 1 lemon (optional)
Directions[]
- Purée the lychees (along with their syrup) in a food processor or blender, and strain the purée through a fine mesh strainer.
- Set aside.
- In a medium pot, boil the water, remove from heat, and steep the tea bags for 3 to 5 minutes.
- Remove the tea bags, and transfer the tea to a large pitcher.
- Add the lychee and the lemon zest.
- Taste the tea; if you would like it a little less sweet, add the lemon juice, to taste.
- Chill until serving.
- Serve over ice.
Yield: About 8 cups, or about 12 servings over ice
