  1. In a large saucepan, combine all ingredients except the sweetener.
  2. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat. Simmer for 30 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and add sweetener. Mix well.
  4. Refrigerate in a covered container. Use within a week.
