  1. In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar.
  2. Beat in eggnog, baking soda and nutmeg.
  3. Gradually add flour and mix well.
  4. Cover and chill for 1 hour.
  5. On a lightly floured surface, roll out half of the dough to ⅛-inch thickness.
  6. Cut into desired shapes; place on ungreased baking sheets.
  7. Repeat with remaining dough.
  8. Brush with egg white; sprinkle with colored sugar.
  9. Bake at 350°F for 6 – 8 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.
  10. Cool on wire racks.
