Ein Dor Melons are round, sometimes slightly oval melons, but generally uniformly-sized, from 2½ to 4 pounds (1 to 1.8 kg) There is heavy netting on the rind, which is green ripening to green and gold. The flesh starts off as pale green under the rind, becoming a soft orange as it approaches the centre. The taste is very sweet; some people think they detect watermelon or banana in it.
