Elegant Mushroom Burgers

1 lb. ground beef 4 T. A-1 steak sauce 1 T. margarine 1/4 lb. sliced fresh mushrooms 1 small onion, thinly sliced 1/2 cup heavy cream 1/4 t. salt 1/8 t. pepper 4 hamburger buns, split and toasted Mushroom caps for garnish (optional)

Mix beef lightly with 3 T. A-1 steak sauce in bowl. Shape into 4 patties. Pan fry patties in large skillet until beef is done as you like. Remove to heated platter, melt margarine in same skillet Add mushrooms, onion, remaining T. A-1 steak sauce, cream, salt and pepper. Simmer, uncovered, until thickened. Put a burger on each bun. Top with mushroom mixture. Garnish each burger with a mushroom cap if desired. Serves 4 Source: My Old Recipes
