EXTRAORDINARY HOT TACO SAUCE This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Poe Estate in Justin, Texas in 1987. 6 ounce can tomato paste 3 cups water 2 teaspoons cayenne pepper 1-1/2 pounds chili powder 2-1/2 teaspoons salt 2 teaspoons cornstarch 2 teaspoons white vinegar 1 tablespoon minced dried onion 2 tablespoons canned jalapeño slices Combine tomato paste with water in a saucepan over medium heat and stir until smooth. Add cayenne pepper, chili powder, salt, cornstarch, vinegar and dried onion and stir. Chop jalapeños slices very fine then add to mixture and heat to boiling. Continue to stir about 3 minutes and remove from heat. Let sauce stand until cool then put in a tightly sealed container and refrigerate.
