Thai Shrimp Paste Fried Rice

Masterfully Made with an assortment of unique yet flavourful ingredients, fried rice is one of the staple food items in Singapore. It is a wholesome and a nutritional dish that could satiate your appetite as well as your nutritious need at any time of the day. Here is a recipe of this dish which you can make from the comfort of your home with a little bit of culinary know-how.

Fried Rice
Honey Chicken
Condiments
  • 1 egg, cooked into an omelet and sliced
  • 1 red chili, sliced
  • 1/2 green mango, shredded
  • 1 red shallot, sliced
  • 1 Chinese sausage (chicken or pork), sliced and cooked
  • 1 t. fried shallots (optional)
  • 1 t. dried shrimp (optional)

Directions[]

  1. Cut the boneless chicken thighs into bite-sized cubes.
  2. Into a wok or a hot pan add some oil and then add in sliced garlic and ginger; cook until fragrant
  3. Add chicken and stir fry
  4. Add honey, oyster sauce, fish sauce, palm sugar, and sweet sauce
  5. Mix well to fully coat chicken pieces
  6. Add some water and simmer until the sauce thickens
  7. Place a different pan on the stove and heat some more oil
  8. Add in sliced shallots, shrimp paste and long beans; stir fry until fragrant
  9. Turn the heat to low and add the rice, mixing well
  10. To serve, place the fried rice in the middle of a plate with eggs, shredded green mango, honey chicken, sausage, dried shrimp, fried shallots, and sliced red chillies around the rice

  • Best served immediately
  • Optionally you can also pour over the honey chicken sauce over the fried rice.
