  1. In a large soup pot saute onions in margarine until clear.
  2. Do not brown!! add salt and pepper and flour, til until absorbed.
  3. Add soup mix and water.
  4. Cook for 30 minutes.
  5. Pour soup over garlic toast in crocks or oven proof bowls.
  6. Top with grated cheese and put in oven for 3 minutes until cheese melts.
  7. Serve immediately.
