- 6 or 7 tart apples such as Stayman Winesap, Granny Smith, or slightly less tart and sweeter Fuji
- 6 Tbs butter or bacon grease
- 1 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/3 cup sugar, either regular of brown sugar
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
Core apples and slice into either logitudinal sections or rings.
Cook until Apples look transparent and sugar is caramelized.
