  1. Place a tablespoon of lard in a Dutch oven and let it get hot.
  2. Place the previously salted quails inside and cover.
  3. Turn the quails every 2 – 3 minutes.
  4. After they are golden brown, add 2 tablespoons of water and simmer at very low heat, for 10 – 15 minutes.
  5. When ready, pour a little melted butter or lard over them.
  6. Serve hot.
