Frosted Apricot Nut Drops 1 cup sifted all-purpose flour 1/4 cup sugar 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder 1/2 cup butter or margarine 3 ounces cream cheese, softened 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract 1/2 cup apricot preserves 1/2 cup chopped pecans Apricot Frosting (below)

1. Sift flour, sugar, and baking powder together; set aside 2. Cream butter with cream cheese and extract thoroughly. Beat in apricot preserves until blended. Add dry ingredients and mix until blended. Stir in pecans. 3. Drop mixture by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets 4. Bake at 350F about 12 minutes or until edges are delicately browned. 5. Spread Appricot Frosting on top of cooled cookies, or spread on bottom and sandwich two cookies together.

Yield: about 4 dozen cookies

Apricot Frosting Blend 2 tablespoons butter or margarine and 1 cup apricot preserves with 1 cup confectioners' sugar until well mixed.
