This green sauce made of fresh basil leaves, prsley, pine nuts, extra virgin olive oil, garlic and parmesan or romano cheese. There are variations; In Sicily, tomato added but basil omitted. Used as sauce as well as a seasoning to other dishes, or as part of topping for appetizers.
