Directions Edit

  1. Combine oats, 1 cup flour, brown sugar, baking powder and salt.
  2. Cut in butter until crumbly.
  3. Stir in beaten egg.
  4. Spread mixture into 15 x 10 x 1 inch pan.
  5. Gently toss apples, with sugar, ¼ cup flour and nutmeg.
  6. Arrange on crust.
  7. Sprinkle crumb topping in diagonal pattern over apples.
  8. Bake at 350°F for 30 – 35 minutes or until apples are tender.
  9. Cut into bars or squares.

  1. Combine rolled oats, flour and sugar.
  2. Cut in softened butter or margarine until crumbly.
