A bunch of healthy ingredients (and a little bit of candy) create this addicting, go-anywhere snack. Omit the peanuts and candies, and enjoy it for breakfast.
Ingredients[]
- 4 cups uncooked regular oats
- 1/2 cup honey wheat germ
- 1/2 cup sunflower kernels
- 1/3 cup sesame seeds
- 1/4 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 (9.4 ounce) package candy-coated milk chocolate pieces
- 1 cup raisins
- 1 cup unsalted roasted peanuts
Directions[]
- Combine first 5 ingredients in a large bowl.
- Combine honey and next 3 ingredients; pour over dry ingredients, and toss to coat.
- Spread in 2 greased 15" x 10" jellyroll pans.
- Bake at 325° for 20 minutes, stirring after 10 minutes and again after 15 minutes.
- Cool.
- Stir in candy, raisins, and peanuts.
- Package gorp for gift giving.
Yield: 9 3/4 cups
