Hamburger French Onion Soup

1 T. butter 1/2 lb. hamburger 10 medium onions, sliced very thin 1 can beef consomm� or stock 1 cup water 2 beef bouillon cubes

Brown butter in bottom of soup kettle. add hamburger. Fry until brown and well separated. Add sliced onions, consomm�, water and bouillon cubes. simmer for 30 minutes. Serve with squares of buttered toast topped with Parmesan cheese. Source: My Old Recipes
