This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Braham Estate in Greenville, Texas in 1992.

Ingredients[]
- 6 medium artichokes trimmed
- 2 quarts water
- ½ teaspoon oregano
- ½ teaspoon thyme
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
Sour cream sauce[]
- 1 cup sour cream
- ¼ cup mayonnaise
- ¾ teaspoon cumin
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
- ¼ cup chopped parsley
Directions[]
- Place artichokes, herbs and olive oil in large pot with boiling water then cover and simmer 40 minutes.
- Serve hot or at room temperature with sour cream sauce.
Sour cream sauce[]
- Combine ingredients then allow standing 30 minutes to allow flavors to blend.
