  1. Rinse and drain cranberries.
  2. Combine all ingredients in a large saucepan and mix well.
  3. Bring to a boil.
  4. Reduce heat to medium and simmer, uncovered, until cranberries pop open, about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. To cook sauce in the microwave, use a 3-quart microwave saucepan.
  6. Cover and microwave on high for 10 minutes, stirring once or twice.
  7. When cool, transfer to a serving dish and refrigerate.
