This spicy cheese gets its kick from pickled jalapenos. For best results with this classic spread, shred your own cheese instead of using preshredded cheese. Let the spread sit at room temperature to soften before slathering it on a sandwich.
Ingredients[]
- 1 ½ cups mayonnaise
- 1 (4-ounce) jar diced pimiento, drained
- 1 tablespoon finely grated onion
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 (8-ounce) block extra-sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 (8-ounce) block sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- ½ cup pickled jalapeño pepper slices, drained and chopped
Directions[]
- Combine first 4 ingredients in a large bowl; stir in cheeses.
- Stirred in chopped pepper.
- Spoon cheese into gift jars.
- Store in refrigerator.
Yield: about 4 cups
