- Yields: about 3 dozen meat balls
Ingredients[]
Sauce[]
- ¾ cup of ketchup
- ½ cup of water
- ¼ cup of cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon of minced onion
- 2 teaspoons of Worcestershire sauce
- 1½ teaspoons of salt
- 1 teaspoon of dry mustard
- ¼ teaspoon of pepper
- 3 drops of Tabasco sauce
- a pinch of cayenne pepper (or to taste)
Meat balls[]
- ¾ lb of ground beef
- ¾ cup of fine breadcrumbs
- ¾ teaspoon of salt
- ½ teaspoon of pepper
- 1½ tablespoons of minced onion
- ½ teaspoon of horseradish
- 3 drops of Tabasco sauce
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 tablespoon of butter or margarine
Directions[]
- Mix the sauce ingredients together in bowl and set aside.
- Mix the meat ball ingredients and shape into ¾ inch balls.
- Melt butter or margarine in a skillet and brown evenly
- Once the meat balls are browned, drain the excess grease and pour the sauce over meat balls and cover.
- Cook 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Keep hot until ready to serve.
