  1. Boil syrup ingredients until thickened and stringy.
  2. Cool.
  3. In round, ungreased pan layer kadaifi, sprinkling with nuts and then butter.
  4. Lowest layer should be a bit thicker.
  5. Repeat until all kadaifi is used, allowing for another thicker layer on top.
  6. Do not top with nuts.
  7. Bake one hour at 375°F degrees until browned.
  8. Pour cooled syrup over hot kadaifi.
  9. Cool, then cut into diamond or square shapes.
